Obsidian Entertainment has confirmed that The Outer Worlds 2 will release on October 29, 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, with Day One availability on Game Pass. Set in the colonial Arcadia system, players will take on the role of an Agent from Earth’s Directorate investigating anomalies caused by malfunctioning Skip Drives, all against the backdrop of faction war. Gameplay promises to be richer than the first entry, with expanded combat and dialogue options, a wider variety of skills such as engineering and hacking, and inventive weapons like the Shrink Ray. This sequel is shaping up to deliver Obsidian’s trademark blend of freedom, humor, and role-playing depth.
